Roles and Responsibilities
? Provide advice and guidance relating to VAT, Goods and Services Tax (GST), Consumption Tax and other similar transaction taxes in relation to current and new business initiatives.
? Team with advisors and internal stakeholders relating to VAT taxation, structures and solutions. Perform research of VAT legislation, case law and other VAT guidance as needed.
? Provide input and guidance relating to Airbnb?s indirect tax position around the world.
? Help manage global VAT compliance and manage our dedicated VAT compliance team to ensure accurate and timely filings.
? Participate in and manage VAT audits.
? Support our regional offices around the globe with VAT guidance.
? A minimum of 8 years of relevant VAT./indirect tax experience.
? A working knowledge of various VAT classifications including ESS, TOMS, intermediaries etc.
? Experience in both industry and law firm/Big 4 accounting firm highly desired.
? Detailed exposure to VAT taxation, country-specific or multi-jurisdictional VAT consulting and VAT compliance.
? Some travel required.
? Ability to develop meaningful relationships with cross functional internal stakeholders.
? Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in performing all essential duties
? Excellent written and verbal communication skills
? Strong organization skills and meticulous attention to detail
? Highly motivated, strong analytical skills, and results driven
? Proven ability to succeed in both collaborative and independent work environments
? Strong communication skills and the ability to interface with multiple groups inside and outside of tax
